Review: Lovense Gush 2 Wearable Penis vibrator

When I got the opportunity to test it, I hoped more than anything else that the Gush 2 would be better than the Gush 1. I can confirm that it’s a big update. How big an update and how good? Read my review of the Lovense Gush 2 to find out.

The informed among you will already know that the Gush 2 is a remote app controlled toy designed to be worn on the penis. You’ll likely also know that there is a Gush 1 that came out back in 2021. I’ve tested both toys among others, so will be spending the next few minutes giving you my opinion on the Lovense Gush 2.

I expect there’ll be some of you wondering whether you should save some money and get the Gush 1 instead of the Gush 2. The short answer is, just get the Gush 2. I’m not saying it just because it’s the latest. It really is that much better.

The Gush 2 comes in a nice box, includes two adjustable straps, plus a magnetic charger. You’ll have to get your own satin pouch to keep it in if you want to keep the dust off it. The last one came with a pouch, so I was surprised for it not to come back for the Gush 2!

The Lovense Gush 2 vs Gush 1

First, let’s talk about size. Below is the Gush 1 and Gush 2 in my hand. As you can see, the Gush 2 is far bigger than the previous version. It also comes with two silicone straps for the toy instead of the single one that the Gush 1 came with. This translates to better comfort and a more secure hold when strapped to the penis. It also helps hide the more powerful vibrators inside the Gush 2.

Back in 2021, I tested the original Lovense Gush. My parting comment was “If there is a next version for the Gush, I’d just like more power please”! The main reason I said that is because the Gush 1 didn’t have enough power for me to reach a hands-free orgasm. The good news is that Lovense has delivered on my parting request with their Gush 2. The Gush 2 is WAY more powerful.

Let’s just get it out the way right now, the stimulation power of the Lovense Gush 2 greatly exceeds that of the Gush 1. The Gush 2 is equipped not only with a vibration motor, like the original. It also has an oscillation motor. Although oscillation produces what feels like vibrations, the vibration from oscillation motors are known for being capable of very high power.

Unlike its predecessor, the Gush 2 is capable of giving me a hands-free orgasm every time. It’s powerful enough that I don’t need to do anything after putting it on and activating the toy. It’s so strong that the first time I tried it, I wore it under my trousers and almost came all over them.

Gush 2 has a battery life of up to 110 mins, compared to the 60 mins of the previous model. It also charges faster.

The stimulation power of the Gush 2

As I mentioned already, the Gush 2 is strong enough to give me a hands-free orgasm. It’s capable of getting me to orgasm in as little as five minutes, however it’s also able to do long stimulation sessions too (if the power is low enough).

The closest toy available to hold comparison with the Gush 2 is the Hot Octopuss Pulse Interactive (I reviewed it here). It has some of the app features but more importantly, it also has a high power oscillation motor. The Pulse Interactive has a more powerful oscillation motor compared with the Gush 2, however the Pulse cannot be worn. The Gush 2 holds a major advantage over the Pulse Interactive in this case purely because it is able to be worn under clothes and not slip off in public settings. The two silicone straps on the Gush 2 really help it stay in place.

Would more power benefit the Gush 2? Not necessarily. The toy has now reached a point where it already has enough power to make me orgasm in minutes. Any additional power beyond that is mainly a novelty as far as I’m concerned.

Is the Gush 2 too powerful?

No, the Gush 2 isn’t too powerful. It certainly doesn’t hurt at all. One thing to keep in mind when using it in public or with adult content sync, however, is that it is powerful enough to make one reach orgasm very quickly. At maximum power, it’s easy to get to the point of no return unexpectedly!

In public, the high power could lead to situations where your clothes are wet… so if you’re going to use it in public, take another pair of trousers and underwear.

When you use it to sync to adult content, you may find that content bringing you to the point of no return before the video even ends. That’s what happened to me. I had to change the bedsheets because the orgasm crept up on me suddenly.

Can you wear the Gush 2 in public?

It’s totally possible to wear the Gush 2 in public. It comes with two adjustable silicone straps, so it really can be made to stay in place. In the tests I did walking around and climbing stairs, it stayed on. The slightly more awkward admission is that the Gush 2 is kinda chunky. I mean, even if I’m wearing jeans it’s pretty clear I’m packing something down there while I’m wearing it.

There are ways to avoid people noticing a big bulge in your trousers, of course. If you carry something in front of you or wear an extra long sweater or coat, you can probably get away with it. Same story if you’re in the dark, perhaps people won’t notice. Make no mistake though, if you walk around with the Gush 2 in broad daylight with thin trousers on, people may notice there’s something weird stuffed down there.

Via the Lovense app, it’s very easy for another person to control the toy in your trousers without you ever touching it. Therefore, functionality-wise, it’s easy to use this toy in public.

What can one do with the Gush 2 via the Lovense Apps?

A major selling point of any Lovense toy is its app capabilities. The Gush 2 can be connected to a smart device just like all their other toys. I already mentioned the fact that a partner can use the app to remote control the toy while with you. What I didn’t mention is that your partner can also control the toy from the other side of the world. Distance doesn’t matter so long as there’s an internet connection for the remote control to work.

Other app control features

There are many app possibilities available throughout a range of different apps. Arguably, the way that the features are spread across so many different apps is confusing. Here are the different apps I tried as well as some of what is possible with each.

Lovense Remote – With this app you can do the most basic app control for the toy. You can make new vibration patterns, sync the toy to music and create control links for remote partners to control your toy. That last mention about control links is how you’d get your remote partner to control your toy. They don’t have to have an app, they can control it from any web browser with the link you send them.

Another thing the Lovense app allows is for you to sync more than one toy together while you use both. For example, I used the Gush 2 with another toy I like by Lovense, the Edge 2.

Vibemate – With Vibemate, you can connect to Pornhub and watch interactive videos. It works fairly well and the website has a lot of different interactive videos that sync with the toys. You can also connect to livecam models with this app, though I didn’t personally test that.

Tophy – Using Tophy, you can connect to other Lovense toy users to chat and share toy control. You can also chat and share control with an AI companion instead. Personally, I tried the AI companion because I didn’t want to connect with a real person in this case. Unfortunately, while the AI companion chat worked and I could control their toy, they couldn’t control mine. I guess that will be corrected in an update.

There are many other apps within apps in the three apps I listed above. I didn’t exhaust all the possibilities but you can really get lost in it all and try a lot of new things. There were even games. If you like having a lot of variety, the apps will certainly give you that.

To sync the toy to any of the apps above all you need to do is power the Gush 2 on, open up the app and click add toy. It connected instantly for me every time. I already have a Lovense account but you may need to create one in the app you choose.

Can you use the Gush 2 as a ‘stupid’ toy?

The less fussy among you may not want to have to connect your toys to an app every time you want to use them. Personally, I’m in this boat and I prefer sex toys to be simple. Fear not! The Gush 2 is able to be used via the simple power button situated on the toy. This is the way I used it most of the time while testing.

The good thing about the Gush 2 is that it’s designed well and will fit pretty much any penis size. On the left you can see a picture of me separating the wings of the toy. They’re flexible enough to accommodate most girths.

How much noise does the Lovense Gush 2 make?

The downside of oscillation motors is that they sometimes make more noise than standard vibration motors. This isn’t necessarily the case with the Gush 2. While its definitely loud enough to be heard in another room if the walls are thin enough, the noise isn’t extreme. The Gush 2 is quieter than all the Pulse toys I have by Hot Octopuss and I’ve also got standard vibrators that are louder than the Gush 2. Can you wear the Lovense Gush 2 during sex?

The Gush 2 is mainly designed with remote control in mind. It excels at discrete public play. Eve was able to connect to the toy in my trousers within seconds and begin controlling it. The Gush 2 is also great when used in combination with oral sex. Seeing as it’s an open ended toy, the penis can still be licked and touched while the toy is around it. So in that sense, it can be used in some sexual acts.

The Gush 2 can also be used for good foreplay. However, you’ll want to make sure you or your partner doesn’t bring you to the point of no return before the actual sex starts. Remember what I was saying about the vibration intensity being high.

The Gush 2 isn’t designed or marketed for penis in vagina sex. It’s too big and it doesn’t offer any stimulation for the vagina in this equation. Now, if we’re talking strap-on sex or gay sex, maybe the Gush 2 would be wearable during sex in those two cases, for the person being penetrated.

What it’d be cool to see in the Gush’s future is a sister toy with a vibrator on the outer edges of the toy. Hot Octopuss already did something similar with the Pulse Duo Lux (also reviewed on this website). I believe Lovense can take that idea further due to the app controls it always includes in its toys.

How to keep the Gush 2 clean

The Gush 2 is waterproof, which means you can use it in the shower or bath, or in a rainstorm if that’s your jam. More useful is the fact that you can just run it under a tap to clean it off. I use mild soap to clean my toys most of the time. You can also buy a special sex toy cleaning spray if you like.

When you choose lube for the Gush 2, remember to use water-based lube. This will insure that the silicone of the toy isn’t damaged or compromised.

Another thing I’d recommend is getting a satin pouch or something else to keep the toy inside of. Lovense don’t provide a pouch for the toy and silicone gathers dust easily.

Concluding my review of the Lovense Gush 2

Have to say, I’m very impressed with the Gush 2. It gives me orgasms in minutes, I can use it via an app or via a simple button and I can wear it without it slipping off. Like its predecessor, it also sports an awesome colour. Would I recommend the Gush 2 over the Gush 1? Yes definitely. The Gush 2 is so much better that it’d be a shame to choose it over the Gush 1. Would I recommend Gush 1 owners upgrade? Yes, do it, for the same reason.

One thing I’d like you to consider if you’re going to buy this toy is what you want to do with it. The Gush 2 excels at both solo play and at some couples’ activites like blowjobs and public teasing. For penis in vagina sex, the Gush 2 isn’t the right choice. In that case, you might want to try one of Lovense’s other toys like the Domi 2 (a wand reviewed here) or the Diamo (a cock ring, reviewed here). You could also consider the Edge 2, a prostate massager for sex, because you can wear that while having sex too (I reviewed the Edge 2 here).

If you want a toy you can play with on your own without ever connecting to the internet, the Gush 2 is for you. If you want all the bells and whistles of app connectivity, you have that too. Couple’s games are also possible with the Gush 2, as well as other more professional activities like camming.

One thing I didn’t mention already is that the Gush 2 is so strong and designed in such a way, that you don’t even need an erection for it to work. If you put your flaccid penis in the toy and start it up, you’ll still be stimulated quickly. This makes it a great choice for people who are regularly tired or people who can’t or don’t want to have erections.

The Gush 2 is such a flexible toy and does what it’s designed to do so well that it’s difficult not to recommend it.
