Automated, bluetooth connected, app controlled masturbator that can be controlled by anyone in the world? Let’s go for it. Here’s my review of the Lovense Solace Pro.

Experimental chap that I am, I couldn’t help myself when I got the chance to try out the Lovense Solace Pro. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tried toys like this before. The Handy and Kiiroo Keon come to mind. I was more excited about the Lovense Solace Pro. Why? Because it’s Lovense. They have a solid track record of making easy peasy lemon squeezey apps that have all kinds of neat features. Plus, Lovense has a pretty decent track record for the quality of their toys too. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, however, I’m not giving this toy a free pass. Like everything on this site, I’m going to dissect the experience I had using the Solace Pro and submit it to my cold and detached testing criteria. Without further ado, let’s get on with the review.

The toy comes with a TPE masturbation sleeve, the toy itself, charging cable, a big chunky clamp and a satin bag to keep it all in. I really appreciated the satin bag. Not enough toys are sent with those nowadays. Almost ten out of ten on that front, however, I would have preferred a silicone sleeve rather than TPE.
TPE is a safe material in terms of toxicity, so there’s no problem with toxicity. The reason I prefer silicone is that TPE is porous and silicone isn’t. The reason companies use TPE is because it is often softer and hugs the penis a bit more tenderly than silicone does. So the upside is that TPE often feels kinda great. The downside is that you’re going to need to be really careful that you wash it properly and then replace it when it starts to go bad. I’m on top of my cleaning game, so it’s not a big problem. I still prefer silicone, however, because it’s more forgiving.
The Solace Pro itself is made from ABS plastic, with some silicone. All that stuff is safe. I prefer the size of this toy to the Kiiroo Keon, which was a nightmare to hide away. The Solace Pro feels a good size in my hand, it’s comfortable. When I turn the Solace Pro on though and it starts moving up and down, it shakes my wrist up (you can see that in the video further down the page). I have to hold it with two hands to stop it from wiggling its way off me. I prefer using the clamp when I use the toy.

The clamp is decent. It comes in two parts and detaches quickly, which makes it easy to store. I’ve been able to attach it to my bed footboard and my desk. Word of warning, this clamp is made from metal. If you compress the clamp too hard on your wooden furniture, it’s going to fuck up your furniture, so go easy. The only thing that could improve the clamp would be for it to have a wider part on the inside of the jaw. The clamp as it is will only hold on to flat surfaces with no lip on them. This is an issue for example, if the footboard of your bed as a horizontal lip on the top of it like mine does. I had to attach the clamp sideways on my bed to get around this.
Another thing worth mentioning with the clamp is that although it’s pretty solid, you need to attach it to fairly heavy furniture. The Solace Pro is kind of a beast and if the thing you attach it to isn’t heavy enough, it might make that thing fall over. If the surface of the furniture isn’t solid enough, the toy may wiggle its way off you easily. For example, the clamp works well with my full sized desk but not my mini laptop desk that I use while sitting on the sofa.

Now let’s talk about the sleeve again. We’ve already explored the material of the sleeve, now let’s see about the design. The ribs inside the toy are subtle but feel great. One weird aspect to the sleeve is that it’s closed at the other end of the toy. I’ve thought about this a lot and come to the conclusion that I’d prefer it to be an open ended sleeve.
There is a positive to the sleeve being closed at the opposite end of the toy. Air suction isn’t varied too much and the mess won’t fall out of the other end of the toy. The downside I’m concerned with is that closing the opposite end of the toy means that after washing the toy, it doesn’t have as much airflow. Airflow is important when drying toys in the winter, particularly toys with a TPE material like this one. I’d personally prefer the Solace Pro sleeves to be open at the end so that they’re easier to dry.

Battery life: The battery life of the toy is great. It lasts up to 14 hours depending on settings and takes two and a half hours to charge. The controls are really easy to operate, both from the buttons on the toy itself and the app controls.
Connecting the Lovense Solace Pro to apps and using the exciting features
The Solace Pro can connect to the Lovense apps. Using the apps you can make it connect to compatible adult content, connect it to AI chat bots using Tophy or to real partners using Lovense connect. Another very cool feature the Solace Pro benefits from is syncing with the Mission, which is a dildo style toy. This means two partners can simulate sex even when at long distance. It also means fun with strangers, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Let’s start with the adult content thing, seeing as that’s the easiest. To use the Solace Pro with adult content, you’ll need the Vibemate app. Using that app you can find a popular adult website (I’m not listing the name on purpose). That website has some interactive videos that are compatible with the Solace Pro and it will start moving to the videos when you connect the toy.

The AI bots on Tophy work pretty well too. It’s a fun way to experiment with an anonymous partner without actually having a real person on the other end. You can also connect with real people on Tophy too, however it’s difficult to find them because the platform is overrun with sex workers.

Using the toy with Discord / Reddit users: Next let’s talk about the long distance remote control. Lovense has a discord that you can join which has several channels where you can request to sync with other Lovense users or ask anonymous people to control your toy. You can also post links to reddit for randos to control your toy. You do all that with the Lovense connect app. It’s pretty easy. You either create a control link using the app and post that to whoever, or you can add a person as a friend in the app and then use the app to control each other. All pretty easy and all works well.
And how does the Solace Pro feel?
Now all of this is great, very exciting but how does the toy feel? Is it actually good at doing its job? Short answer – yes.
The toy doesn’t vibrate like the Max 2 does (I reviewed the Max 2 here). The Solace Pro is an automated fucking machine for dicks. It moves up and it moves down. It’s pretty good at moving up and down. It can go slow, fast and you can control the stroke length (the amount it moves up before coming back down). I’ve done a demo video further down the page.
As I mentioned before, the sleeve of the Solace Pro feels good. I’m kinda wide in girth and so I wish there was a sleeve that was slightly wider. For most people, the Solace Pro sleeve will work well. Even I can use it, I just prefer to use a condom so that there’s not too much friction on my skin. It’d be great if Lovense made some sleeves for wider girth people like me.

Cleaning the Solace Pro
Cleaning the Solace Pro is fairly easy. You just wash the sleeve out with some soap and water, maybe some sex toy cleaning spray if you like. The mechanical part of the toy isn’t totally waterproof, so don’t submerge it. You can wipe it down with a wet cloth if it gets dirty.
Be sure to dry the sleeve of the toy out properly. If you stick it into a closed drawer while it’s still wet, you’ll have bacteria and I don’t recommend that. Let the toy dry out completely before putting it away and you’ll be fine.
In conclusion to my review of the Lovense Solace Pro

All in all, the Solace Pro is a pretty fun toy to have. It’s definitely my favourite of all the automated strokers I’ve tried. The app controls make the toy easier to use for advanced uses like long distance connecting and it’s very good at its job. It feels great, the clamp that comes with it works well and I’m going to keep the toy around to play with. For someone who’s been sent as many toys as me, that’s a compliment.
I’d mainly like to see the sleeves of the toy improved. I’d prefer silicone as a material and I’d also prefer the sleeve’s opposite end to be open. A big bonus point for me would be an alternative version of the sleeve designed for wider girth people.
Like most of Lovense’s other toys, you can use the Solace Pro with other app controlled toys like the Edge 2 (a prostate vibe I reviewed here). You can connect several toys to the same app and control them together with it. Your remote partner can control a few at once for you too.
If you’re on the fence about this toy, I hope my review has helped your decision. If your partner has a Mission toy, it’s kind of a no brainer, go for it. If you’re just buying the Solace Pro for app controls, I’d still recommend the Gush 2 over it. The Gush 2 is a penis vibrator but you can use it as a stroker manually. The reason I prefer the Gush 2 is that it’s way smaller and can be tucked away more easily. The Solace Pro takes up more drawer space, so keep that in mind.
