Review: NŌS Cock Ring by Fun Factory

Oh I love testing German sex toys, particularly Fun Factory toys! The NŌS is their new cock ring and its small modern design makes it a unique choice. Despite me personally having some issues with its diameter, I think this could be a great choice for many people. Read on for my review of the NOS by Fun Factory!

First Impressions of the Nos Cock Ring

The Nos cock ring looks modern, colourful and unique, so it fits right in with Fun Factory’s style for making sex toys. The internal part of the cock ring has an interesting design with two small bumps, I haven’t seen this before so am intrigued! The bumps are meant to put extra pressure on the penis to create stronger erections. The ring also has two ‘rabbit’ style ears with a vibration motor in each. The ears are meant to fit around the clit, so we’ll see how that works later.

The internal circumference of the Nos Cock Ring immediately draws my attention because it seems quite snug and looks like it will possibly be too small for me. The unstretched internal diameter of the ring is is 1.2 inches (3.7 inches circumference). My erect circumference is over 6 inches, which means I’ll probably find this cock ring very tight. People with a circumference of 5 – 5.5″ (which is considered around about average) will fit inside the Nos comfortably.

The NOS is fully waterproof so you’ll be able to have fun in the pool, bath or shower. This cock ring also features Fun Factory’s travel lock too which is really helpful because often cock rings don’t have that. To turn the travel lock on or off, you press the fun and minus buttons for half a second. To unlock it, you press the plus and fun buttons for half a second. Having a travel lock means that the toy is unlikely to be activated accidentally while in your bag or suitcase.

The NOS by Fun Factory is rechargeable. One charge should last an hour (you may get slightly more or less than that depending on the settings you use). It takes two hours to recharge.

One last thing about the NOS from my initial impression of it… it comes with a storage bag, which I really appreciate! That helps keep the dust off it and helps me keep the charging cable etc together with it.

Experience with the Nos by Fun Factory

Eve and I used the NOS a few times in bed. While we did enjoy it, I have both good news and bad news. I’ll start with the bad news.

Bad news: Not so good for larger penis girths

This cock ring is too tight for me. I’m above average in girth but I get a bit annoyed when a good brand like Fun Factory doesn’t provide sizing options for cock rings. Not everybody is the same size and while the Nos cock ring will be great for the average user, anyone too big for it isn’t going to enjoy it as much. In my opinion it’s a shame that the Nos isn’t manufactured with different internal circumferences, I highly recommend that Fun Factory starts doing this.

So to repeat what I said before, if you are 5 – 5.5 inches in circumference this cock ring will be good for you. If you’re 6 inches or over like me, you should skip this one because it will feel too tight. I was able to wear the NOS for about 20 minutes but towards the end I would have to take it off because it started feeling uncomfortable, like my penis was under too much pressure.

Good news: The vibrations from the NOS feel very good

While not the strongest cock ring vibrator I own, the vibrations from the NOS are impressive given the fact that the vibration motors are quite small. The small size of the NOS’s vibration motors mean that I can move with quite a lot of force during sex and not have the motor get in the way.

Position 1 of the NOS ring

The first position many people will likely want to use the NOS is in the one pictured above, with the ears pointing backwards. I found this position to be ideal for missionary position because with the way my body is positioned over my girlfriend, it positions the ears right over her clit without putting too much pressure on it. This position also works well in cowgirl position (particularly when my girlfriend leans forward towards me).

The second position of the NOS ring actually works well for the positions I just mentioned (missionary and cowgirl). What will be different is the intensity, because the rabbit ears will press into the clit more. Some people will like that and some not! My girlfriend prefers not to have so much pressure on her clit, which is why we stick to position 1 for missionary and cowgirl position. What this second position is great for is doggy style! When I’m behind Eve, it’s good for me to put the cock ring on with the ears facing forward and the motor underneath my penis. That way, the ears reach underneath and give Eve some extra stimulation.

The size of this vibration motor is ideal

The problem with many vibrating cock rings is that the vibration motors are way too big and that can make thrusting hard during sex uncomfortable. The NOS doesn’t have this issue so that’s quite a big bonus.

My girlfriend Eve said she couldn’t feel the vibrations all the way up my penis inside her but she did have a little sensation at the base of my penis (near where the cock ring sits). She really enjoys the sensation of vibration on her clit with this toy though and says that the vibrating ears of the NOS feel really good in missionary position and when she’s on top of me. I wore the NOS in doggy style too and she says that gives her a nice amount of subtle stimulation too (it doesn’t target the clit as directly in that position).

Eve’s main criticism of the NOS is the same as mine, that it is too tight for me. She commented on that as she saw me struggle to take it off at the end of sex. She also noted that the NOS has a common problem with cock rings, that it moves out of place during sex and needs to be repositioned regularly to direct it back at the clit. This isn’t a huge problem though and it will happen with any cock ring that only fits around the shaft of the penis. The pressure points inside the Fun Factory NOS are meant to keep it in place and while it didn’t totally prevent it from moving on my penis, it did require less adjustment than usual.

The Flirt vibration mode

Another thing we really enjoyed about the NOS cock ring is the flirt mode! Fun Factory toys sometimes have a vibration mode that cycles through several other vibration modes which makes using them a little more interesting. It’s one of the reasons why I liked their the Cobra Libre II so much. I don’t think the Cobra Libre II had such an advanced vibration mode but there was one setting on it that changed the modes a lot. That’s basically what the Flirt mode of the NOS does. It keeps changing the vibration rhythm so that you don’t get bored by the pattern. That’s a big plus because sometimes vibration modes do get a bit boring and it’s very nice not to have to change the mode via a remote or with the button on the toy itself!

The noise level of the Fun Factory NOS is excellent

As you’ll see/hear from the video above, the noise level of the NOS is very low. This is exceptionally good because the vibrations actually feel good as well. Usually you have a tradeoff of some sort with vibration quality vs the noise those vibrations make. Fun Factory got it exactly right with the NOS. Even if you’re in a room with people next door, I really doubt they’d hear the NOS vibrating because it’s that quiet. In my video above you’ll see I had to bring it up right close to the camera for the microphone to pick the sound up at the lowest settings. Even at the highest setting, the NOS is very quiet.

Cleaning the Fun Factory NOS

Cleaning the NOS cock ring is really easy seeing as it’s waterproof and the silicone is so smooth. You literally just rinse it with some water and give it a rub with some mild soap like Dove. You could also use a Sex Toy cleaning spray if you want. It dries quite quickly. As with all silicone toys you will want to store it in its pouch to prevent it from collecting dust.

Concluding my review of the Fun Factory NŌS

It’s a bit of a mixed bag from me with this evaluation of the Fun Factory NOS. I won’t ever use it again because it’s too tight for my penis. This problem of girth is only for people with larger than average penis diameters like me but I really feel that a manufacturer like Fun Factory should do better in that department. In my opinion, the Cobra Libre II is still the best penis toy that they’ve made for penises!

On the plus side, the vibrations from the NOS are impressive for its size and the smaller motor size means that thrusting during sex is not limited or made uncomfortable. The noise level of this vibrating cock ring is also excellent and I think people who are nervous about the sound they make during sex will appreciate this toy. The Flirt vibration mode is also really nice and means that I can leave the cock ring running without having to change settings to get a different sensation. The Flirt mode means that my partner and I never get bored with the rhythm / pattern that the vibrators are using.

Would I recommend the NOS cock ring? Yes if you have an erect penis circumference of 5 – 5.5 inches but not if you have a circumference of 6 inches or more. I really hope that Fun Factory will release some larger diameter versions of the NOS. It’s a good cock ring and it’s a shame for it to be let down by its diameter for larger penises. If Fun Factory does start releasing additional diameters for the NOS, I will come back to this review and increase the score. For now though, I’m unable to give it as high a score as I would like.
