Review: Rocks-Off The Vibe Anal / Cock Ring Vibrator

Damn, I really hate writing reviews like this one. The Vibe by Rocks-Off is a toy that promises to do a lot. It says it can stimulate my prostate, balls, perineum and the base of my penis shaft. Unfortunately this would prove to be a case of over-promising and underdelivering. Read on for my review of The Vibe by Rocks Off.

First Impressions of The Vibe by Rocks-Off

Rocks-Off is British, as am I, so when I got a message to test one of their toys again I was hoping that this would be a positive review. I’m not overly patriotic but I do unashamedly enjoy promoting British sex toys when I find good ones. Right now though, I may as well break the illusion when it comes to this toy, because I didn’t enjoy using it at all and found it very difficult to find positive points.

The packaging that The Vibe arrives in already didn’t inspire me much. The box mine arrived in was a bit damaged to be fair but inside, there’s too much plastic. This is meant to be a high-quality toy, yet the packaging is that of a much lower quality toy. I know that for consumers reading, this comment may seem trivial but I always leave these first impressions for the manufacturers because it’s important for them to know what first impression their packaging gives. Packaging is no-where near as important as the product itself but it’s still something that affects whether or not someone will pick up the box and what mood that box will put someone in before they open something for the first time. In this case, I apologise but it just screams “cheap”.

Marketing: “Flexible Man-On-Man Play”. Seriously?! I expected better from Rocks Off. I’m very disappointed by this. There is absolutely no reason to target genders and especially specific sexual orientations. VERY bad taste.

The Vibe has a design destined for compatibility issues. It has a cock ring, a testicle ring and a prostate arm all in one. Rabbit vibrators are notorious for being compatible with some bodies and not others, because the dildo and clit vibrators have to match up exactly. Rocks-Off have asked for THREE different body parts to line up in a way that fits this toy. I’m not against this design… I just think it’s unwise. What would have made far more sense is to make one big silicone cock ring that fits at once around the balls and shaft. That would be a design compatible with far more people. As it is, I believe this toy will have compatibility issues, because as you’ll later find, it didn’t fit me properly.

The remote.

The Vibe by Rocks Off has 10 different vibration modes and two separate motors (one in the prostate arm and another in the perineum portion of the toy). It comes with a remote that can be used to more easily change modes and the insertable part of the toy is bendy to help it fit to different people’s body. The run time of The Vibe is 60 minutes and it’s rechargeable via the cable that comes with the toy. I believe the remote control of the toy is also rechargeable, which is a nice idea.

Experience with the Rocks-Off The Vibe

If there’s one thing that irks me, it’s sex toy designs that don’t properly fit my body. While Rocks-Off have made the silicone cock ring of their toy big and stretchy enough to fit most people, the second silicone ring for the balls doesn’t work for me at all. The blind-spot with this particular design is in assuming that all people’s testicles are positioned and sized in the same way. My own testicles are somewhat high set, meaning that they don’t hang down very lowly. Although I can get my testicles through the second ring of The Vibe, they won’t stay there. As soon as my hand lets go of the silicone ring, my testicles squeeze back through it – which is uncomfortable by the way. This means, I cannot wear the toy as it has been designed to be worn.

The fact that I’ve not got my balls through the testicles ring doesn’t mean I can’t use the toy. The toy stays in place well without my balls being through that part of it. As I mentioned, I did get my testicles through there a few times and so I did feel what vibrations I’d have felt if they stayed there. The sensation of vibration around the testicles is very subtle, so I’m not missing much.

To go back to my earlier comment – this design would have been better if Rocks-Off had opted for one big silicone ring instead of two smaller rings. If the toy had one big silicone ring, it would have fit me without a problem.

Anyway, let’s get onto insertion. The toy is fairly small in diameter so insertion shouldn’t be too much of an issue for most people. One thing that annoys me about this particular design by Rocks-Off however, are the tiny little bumps along the tip of the insertable portion of The Vibe. These little bumps are totally unnecessary and they cause unwanted friction during insertion, which means more lube is required. I don’t understand why they’re there because they do absolutely nothing after the toy is inserted.

The insertable arm of the toy bends with quite a lot of flexibility, however after inserting the toy and putting the cock ring on, the toy doesn’t actually go that far inside the anus. For me, the toy isn’t long or big enough to stimulate my prostate with any real intensity.

The vibrations produced by the toy are fair, though I’d describe them as subtle and buzzy in nature. In fairness to the toy, it is quite slim so the vibration motor wouldn’t be able to produce a whole lot of intensity. The vibrations actually feel ok and give a slight extra buzz to sex while its in use. The main thing that bothers me about the vibration motors though is that for me, the motor inside the perineum part of the toy feels stronger and more present in sensation than the vibrator inside my anus.

The remote control makes changing the vibration modes easy. I appreciate that they added the remote because reaching under the perineum to click buttons I can’t see would have been a problem.

Cleaning The Vibe by Rocks Off

The Vibe is completely waterproof, so it’s very easy to clean with soap and water. The remote control isn’t waterproof, so clean that more carefully.

In conclusion of my review on the Rocks-Off The Vibe

Ultimately, I don’t like this toy at all. It has a price tag that the quality doesn’t stand up to. The design of the toy doesn’t fit allow me to wear it around my testicles as designed, the vibrations are buzzy and the anal part of the toy doesn’t stimulate my prostate. Then there’s that weird texture that has been put on the insertable part of the toy that does nothing but cause more friction on insertion.

While I’m sure this toy will have an audience and some people will appreciate it, I can’t recommend it so highly. I kept trying to find something about the toy that might save it or improve things a little but in the end… I just don’t get any pleasure at all from wearing it. It gives me a slight buzz during sex while I wear it but to be honest, there are a lot of toys that give a slight buzz and those don’t have the high price of this one.

The only positive things I can say about this toy (from my own experience at least) is that the remote control works well and it stays in place well while I move around and walk etc. I understand that’s a disappointing conclusion but I really don’t get any pleasure from this toy.

The Vibe is a hefty €99.90 at the time of writing. Is it possible that I would have gone easier on this toy if it was priced lower? I doubt it in this case. The design is genuinely disappointing and I feel very strongly that Rocks-Off have made an error of judgement to write “flexible man on man play” in their marketing.
