First Impressions of the Atom Cock Ring
The Hot Octopuss Atom comes in a shiny box and will win your partner some points from presentation alone (making it a good gift). The product box arrived in plain packaging, so no-one will know what is inside it until you open it.
The cock ring itself is made of black silicone and has a reflective silver stripe at the top. It’s pretty beefy too… a serious looking cock ring! It looks great although you’ll want to keep it inside its included storage pouch because otherwise it will collect dust (black silicone always does).
The Atom cock ring has 5 vibration modes with 5 speeds. It’s rechargeable and will last 40 mins depending on your usage. It takes 2 hours to fully charge it with the included cable.
Atom is a completely waterproof cock ring so if you want to use it in the bath or shower then go for it. For me waterproof cock rings simply make them easier to wash.

Now let’s get on to my experience with this mighty vibrating cock ring.
Experience with ATOM by Hot Octopuss
The ATOM is a pretty bulky cock ring. The silicone stretches but is still tough so you’ll need to give it a good pull when you’re putting it on your penis. You’ll be able to put it on either with or without an erection, though if you have an erection you might just need to put some lube on it to help it slide down. Use a water-based lube so that you don’t damage the silicone.
This cock ring will fit almost any penis. Unless you are crazy big or small, it will fit. I have a slightly larger girth than average but it fits me fine because of the stretching silicone. This cock ring reduces the blood flow in my penis perfectly, meaning it gives me crazy hard erections that last longer.
On to the fucking… The ATOM is a very good toy during sex but before I get to the positives let’s discuss the negatives. None of these are deal breakers for me personally but perhaps it will matter to you or your partner.
Your partner won’t get your full length
The ATOM cock ring is bulky (3cm in depth). Because of its size, it will mean your partner will have 3cm less of your penis inside them.
For me this isn’t a deal breaker. Eve told me she noticed that she wasn’t getting the full length of my penis, yet it didn’t bother her that much. If you are concerned or anxious in some way about the size of your penis though, then it could be an issue for you. I’ve read accounts from several women saying that the reduction of length using this cock ring is annoying for them. Yet like I mentioned… my partner doesn’t mind, so I guess it depends.
The ATOM cock ring is intense… sometimes its vibrations are overkill
The ATOM packs a seriously strong vibrator. While many people like that, you need to keep in mind that sometimes more is not better. Eve told me she can only stand me using it until her first orgasm. After her first orgasm, the ATOM’s vibrations are too strong for her. She can sometimes use it for two orgasms, yet I usually need to spin the ATOM around on my cock right after she climaxes (so the vibrator is on her butt rather than her clit).
Once Eve had the ATOM vibrating at her clit for three orgasms. In the end it started to numb her clit so she asked me to remove it.
The ATOM cock ring doesn’t have a remote control
Following on from my last point, it would be better if Eve could control the ATOM’s vibration strength. The problem is that the controls of the cock ring are directly on the cock ring itself. So usually only I can change the settings.
I’d really love to see a mobile app or remote control with Hot Octopuss’s next generation of cock rings. They’ve done it with some of their Pulse toys already and the remotes work great. Remotes would take sexual play to a whole other level!
Now for the positives!
Using the ATOM, even the tip of your cock vibrates for your partner
I’ve used a lot of vibrating cock rings before and the ATOM is probably the most intense. Its vibrations are rumbly and Eve feels my entire cock vibrate while I wear it. The vibrations are most intense near the base of my penis but the tip of my cock vibrates too. The vibration at the tip of my penis is more subtle but Eve said she can feel it and loves the sensation when I’m inside her.
The ATOM cock ring makes your erection extra hard
I mentioned this already but the hole size of the ATOM cock ring will be ideal for the majority of people. It makes me extra hard and makes me feel like a monster. I enjoy energetic sex and using this cock ring, I can really go nuts in bed and not lose my erection.
It’s pretty typical to lose erection strength after working your muscles a lot in bed. This cock ring gives the most you’d need for such sex.
The vibrations from the ATOM will stimulate your cock too
The vibrations of the ATOM feel great on my cock. They won’t bring me to orgasm but if I’m close then they’ll take me over the edge.
One of the really annoying things about cheaper vibrating cock rings is that many of them do nothing for the penis they’re on. Cheaper cock rings will often give my partner a buzz but won’t actually stimulate my penis.
Another reason that it is important that the vibrations stimulate the penis is because sex using a vibrating cock ring is usually different. If your partner has a clit, then they’ll likely ask you to stay still sometimes so that the vibrator remains on their clit. Other times fucking will be slower and steadier for the same reason.
With ATOM, I don’t mind staying still because the vibrator feels pretty damn good.
The ATOM isn’t the noisest toy around

The ATOM has a big brother, the ATOM plus
If you are looking for an even more intense cock ring, then you might want to check out the ATOM Plus. Please note, I haven’t tried the ATOM plus yet but it is similar enough to the ATOM for me to include some info on it here.
The ATOM Plus cock ring fits around both your cock and your balls. The ATOM Plus has two vibration motors (one for your partner’s clit and one for your perineum (the bridge between your balls and ass).
The ATOM Plus has the same battery life as the ATOM and likewise also has 5 vibration mode and speeds.
The disadvantage of the ATOM Plus over the normal ATOM cock ring is that you can only put it on while your penis is flaccid. I’ve tried cock rings like this before (example the We-Vibe Verge). These cock rings are great but you can’t put them on while in the throws of passion. They require you to know in advance that you’ll have sex because after your cock is erect, there won’t be enough room. You may also want to put the ATOM Plus on while in private just because it can be a little awkward to push your balls through a cock ring.

Cleaning the Hot Octopuss ATOM
Cleaning the ATOM cock ring is a piece of cake. It’s fully waterproof so you just stick it under the tap, wipe off all the goo and then spray it with some sex toy cleaner. Keep it in the included pouch so that it remains dust free.
Conclusion on the ATOM Cock Ring
Eve and I really like using the ATOM. It has a real powerful vibration motor and it is great for slow passionate sex. Eve likes to keep me inside her for as long as possible so that the vibrator stays on her clit. So slow passionate sex while doing lots of kissing works great with this vibrator.
You can also have energetic sex with this cock ring because it will keep you harder for longer. The design of the ATOM also means that there aren’t any sharp points or anything to stab at your partner’ clit either. For example, Eve told me it didn’t hurt her when I fucked her harder while using the ATOM.
The main downside for me is that the ATOM doesn’t have any remote control or remote app. Eve really could do with such a remote for this cock ring because of its sheer power. I’d prefer her to be able to click a button to turn the intensity down after she climaxes, so that she has better control when she’s feeling sensitive. I’d really recommend Hot Octopuss adds a remote in future generations.
Another slight downside is that the cock ring is 3cm in depth so will make your penis a bit shorter. Yet you also get hard erections from the use of the cock ring. Depending on you and your partner, the 3cm depth may or may not be a problem. For us, it isn’t.
Overall a good cock ring to add to your collection! It has some room for improvement but honestly, I think most people would be very happy with the Hot Octopuss ATOM.
And yeah… if you want a little more then go for the ATOM Plus.
