Fifty Shades of Grey ‘Restrain Me’ Bondage Ropes Review

Fifty Shades of Grey Restrain Me Bondage BDSM Ropes

Let’s get kinky…

First impressions of the Restrain Me Bondage Ropes

Some time ago we decided to buy some new bondage ropes and chose the beautiful black and red silk style ‘restrain me’ ropes from Fifty Shades of Grey. The diameter of the rope is just right for us, they are slim ropes but thick enough to hold tight. Perfect for bondage. They are 5 metres long each and are really beautiful. Others we saw available at the time were either very expensive or not aesthetically pleasing. We’re not bondage or bdsm fanatics so while we like to get kinky, we like the bondage items we own to have a certain amount of class. These are both affordable and very classy.

Experience using the 50 Shades of Grey Bondage Ropes

The ropes feel really nice in my hands. I bought them as a kinky ‘punishment’ for something trivial that Eve did. Even though I knew she would love it. It’s important with any rope play that you learn about how to do things safely. So do not try to use these or any other ropes without reading about bondage rope safety first.

The first time I tied Eve up, I tied her elbows and knees together. I was very rough with her but she played along and waited for me to do the rope ties properly. It is important that you keep this in mind for yourself. You can’t just tie someone up while they are actually struggling to get free. You will hurt them, so they need to ‘play along’.

The 50 Shades bondage ropes are very smooth and silky, meaning both tying them and untying them is very easy. This is important because while you should be taking enough time to tie your partner properly and ensure their safety, you don’t want to be fiddling around TOO much.

The Restrain Me Ropes are also the perfect length for beginners because they are just long enough to do most basic ties. You may find yourself wishing you had just a little more length occasionally. Yet I enjoyed having shorter ropes because it means there is less excess rope to get tangled.

We have also made ‘handcuffs’ and ‘ankle cuffs’ using these ropes very easily. I also combined these with actual handcuffs, to tie Eve to actual furniture. When you have to do large ties like this, it would be more ideal to have longer ropes. However with a pair of nice bondage handcuffs, these ropes are perfectly fine.

Being submissive with the 50 shades bondage ropes (by Eve)

There is nothing more exciting, in my opinion, than to fully give yourself to your partner. It is in those rare moments of abandon that one can really give free rein to pure sensations. This, however, requires absolute trust in the other and vice versa. I insist on this last point: NEVER let anyone impose any sexual practice on you. If bondage is not your thing, SAY IT openly and without fear to your partner. NEVER FORCE YOURSELF to do anything you do not want or that scares you. If you have doubts, reservations or a total rejection, it is crucial to share it with your partner. He / she may be disappointed, but he / she will understand and we will never blame you. Otherwise, they’re is not the right partner. This sounds obvious, but absolute consent is the foundation of any relationship. Never take it for granted.

So, after openly discussing our respective desires for BDSM, Adam and I organised TOGETHER a little session of bondage. It was Adam who bought the Restrain Me bondage ropes, making sure that the texture was pleasant so as to not hurt my skin. I liked them immediately: they are elegant with a nice twist and are very soft to the touch. Adam took the role of the nasty executioner and it is with a nameless excitement that I slipped into the victim’s skin. I did not hesitate to struggle to spice things up, but I was always aware that it was a game: I was careful not to hurt him and not to hurt myself. You have to cooperate with your partner if you are the submissive partner: if you want to make it kinkier by struggling, fine, but do it with the appropriate control to allow them to dominate you and tie you up. If you don’t play along, you may hurt both your partner and yourself. Find the middle ground between your roleplay and the practical side.

The ropes are very nice on the skin and Adam was able to attach me in a way that was solid enough so that the knots do not break with each one of my movements, while being comfortable not to hurt me. It is important to communicate throughout these “extreme” practices in order to never go beyond what you and your partner are willing to do. You should agree beforehand on a safe word that, without interrupting the game, will make your partner understand that you are starting to feel pain, and on another safe word that means the game has to stop completely. I’m quite flexible, so there are many positions that I can do without suffering but this is not the case for everyone. So again, the person dominated must absolutely know their boundaries and clearly signify them to the one who dominates. The latter must in return limit themselves to what their partner authorises. In addition to binding me, Adam dared using handcuffs on me as well as BDSM candles (specifically designed for these games), only because he had my agreement before. And I can tell you that the rope-cuffs-candles combination is da BOMB.

Once the limits of security and trust are clearly established, you can indulge in all your most taboo fantasies. It’s a real moment of sharing and letting go. So enjoy it to the fullest.

Conclusion

These BDSM Ropes by 50 Shades of Grey are really great for beginners and perhaps even intermediate kinksters. The material they are made from feels premium and they are long enough to have multiple bondage uses. Yet they are short enough to prevent complications such as tangling. We highly recommend them!
