In the not so distant past there wasn’t a huge amount of choice when it came to penis sex toys. We had masturbators of varying qualities, basic cock rings and a few rudimentary penis vibrators. Since 2015 there has been a massive increase in quality penis toys being developed. Now you can find great penis sex toys no matter your budget. Whether you’re looking for a budget penis sex toy or something more premium, I’ll have it listed here for you.
What kinds of Penis Sex Toys are there?
There are actually several different types of penis sex toys available, perhaps more than you would imagine. I don’t test some of the more specialist toys on this list. For example chastity and urethral rods don’t interest me. My reviews and tests tend to be of penis vibrators, wand vibrators, masturbators and cock rings. I’m increasingly beginning to test more ‘smart sex toys’ for penises too.

Best Masturbators
Masturbators are the most obvious kind of penis sex toy. They work in the same way as you masturbate using your hand.
Be careful about materials for masturbators
Masturbators tend to be made out of soft TPE and cyber-skin materials. You have to be careful when shopping for them because there are many bad companies out there that make masturbators with toxic materials like jelly. All of the masturbators I list on this website are body-safe. You can also trust the two major brands, Tenga and Fleshlight.
Most masturbators are porous, which means that they have pours that can fill with water and grow bacteria. This is the reason why it is so important to clean and dry a masturbator properly. Even with the most care and attention, most masturbators won’t last forever. They tend to last 2 – 5 years depending on usage. No matter how hard you try, they will eventually degrade. There are some masturbators made out of silicone which don’t degrade but silicone is a tougher material so isn’t as popular or pleasurable for this kind of toy.
The Handy
The Handy is a smart masturbator that came out in 2020. It changed the game for smart toys and in my opinion has stolen the crown of the Fleshlight Launch. The Handy can be used with many unofficial masturbators, designed by external companies. For example, Fleshlight, Tenga and masturbators by other companies are compatible with The Handy. The reason for this is that the attachment mechanism is a simple velcro strap.
The Handy feels amazing. It is the perfect toy for long distance sex and if you are into porn, it also syncs with certain porn videos.

- It has many speeds (very slow to very rapid).
- It can please most penis sizes because the stroke length can be set to very short or very long.
- It can sync to porn.
- It can be remote-controlled over long-distance.

- Has to be plugged into the electricity to work.
- Is not waterproof.
- Can be awkward to adjust the velcro strap if you are already wearing the device.
Arcwave Ion – so much more than a masturbator
The Arcwave Ion is one of the best penis sex toys you can get. It is both a masturbator and an air pressure stimulator. Air pressure stimulation feels a little like vibration, however there is a subtle difference in sensation. It is said that air pressure stimulates nerves in the penis that can’t be effected with vibration.
The sleeve of the Arcwave Ion is made of silicone, yet it is very soft (rare for silicone). Because it is made of silicone, it won’t degrade like other materials more commonly used in masturbators (TPE, SuperSkin etc).
Lovense Max 2
The Lovense Max 2 does everything! I use it more as a penis vibrator but it can be used soley as a masturbator if you wish. I will talk more about it in the best penis vibrators section.
Fleshlight Mini Lotus
The Mini-Lotus sleeve from Fleshlight is still my favourite masturbator texture. The inside of it feels delicious because of the many different chambers that the texture creates. Other than the climax, the best feeling part of sex to me is when my penis slides through the opening of the vagina or anus. The magic thing about the Mini-Lotus is that it feels like entering many vaginas, one after the other. My orgasms from this toy are super powerful.

- It is only available for big Fleshlights, which aren’t the most ergonomic toys.
- The Mini-Lotus isn’t available with abstract orifices yet. So you have to be ok with it looking like a vagina etc.
Tenga Flip Hole Black
At the time of writing, the Tenga Flip Hole Black is my second favourite simple masturbator. By simple masturbator I mean one that doesn’t vibrate or move on its own. This toy comes in four different versions; the black, red, silver and white versions. I tried the Black version and now it is one of the best toys I have for masturbating with. Not only can I enjoy using it on my own but my girlfriend also enjoys using it on me. It is semi-transparent which gives her a little something to enjoy looking at while using it on me.
The texture inside this toy is very detailed, soft and all encompassing. I totally recommend it.
Pros
- Feels great and works well for both solo masturbation and for a partner to use on you.

- It is WAY easier to dry and clean than the Fleshlight Mini-Lotus.
Cons
- It may not be suitable for very large or thick penises.
Fleshlight Quickshot
The Fleshlight Quickshot is one of the best masturbators available for couple play. Your partner can use this on you, see through it and also give you a blowjob at the same time. My girlfriend and I have really enjoyed using it, which is why it ends up on this list. In my opinion it isn’t so interesting for solo masturbation but you can by all means use it in that way.
The Fleshlight Quickshot is not suitable if you have a very thick penis, so move on if that’s the case for you. It can be used with thick penises, however you would need to remove the plastic holder. That’s easy to do but it takes away from the experience.

- It isn’t suitable for penises with above average girth.

Fleshlight Launch
Full disclosure, I haven’t tested the Fleshlight Launch myself yet. I’ve only seen it in a trade show. The idea of the Fleshlight Launch is that it turns your standard Fleshlights into hands-free sex toys. Like The Handy, the Fleshlight Launch moves masturbators up and down on your penis. It can also sync to porn. The disadvantage of the Fleshlight Launch however is that it is only compatible with Fleshlight Classics. So it isn’t as versatile as The Handy is.
Best Penis Vibrators
Penis vibrators come in many shapes and sizes. The way to recognise them is that they are either hollow chambers, are designed to hold the penis or to wrap around the penis. I have tested many penis vibrators and these are some of my favourites.
Lovense Max 2
The Lovense Max 2 is by far the best penis vibrator that I have ever tried. It contracts as well as vibrates and can also be used as a masturbator (to slide up and down the penis). It also creates a suction effect because of the air flow inside the toy. This means it stimulates the penis in four different ways. This toy can also be remote-controlled over distance via an app, making it a very tempting smart sex toy.
Pros
- Runs on batteries so doens’t need to be plugged in.
- Stimulates the penis in four different ways.
- Can be used as a simple masturbator if the batteries run out.
- Remote-control over long distance possible.
Cons
- It isn’t transparent, so you or your partner can’t see your penis through it.
- The vibration is more subtle than with other toys.
- Only compatible with Lovense masturbation sleeves. So you can’t use masturbation sleeves from other companies like Fleshlight.
Pulse Duo Lux by Hot Octopuss
This is the most powerful vibrator I have ever tried. It uses oscillating plates to create the vibration and the mechanics of that is what gives it the power. The Pulse comes in several different versions and the one I’m recommending here is the version that you can use with your partner. The penis is held between the two wings of the toy, while the clitoris of your partner can be stimulated from the other side. The Duo Lux comes with two remote-control wrist straps that are really helpful. I much prefer wrist straps than remote controls that get lost easily.
If you have a tendency for erectile dysfunction, the Pulse will be a great toy for you. You don’t need an erection to have an orgasm with it.
There are less expensive Pulse toys available. The Pulse Solo Lux doesn’t have the clit vibrator but is just as powerful. There are also slightly less powerful versions of the toy known as the Essential range. Trust me, these will also be powerful enough.

- It’s crazy powerful. The most powerful vibrator available in my opinion.
- It can be used with or without an erection.
- The remote controls wrist strap design is extremely helpful.
- Just as good a clitoris vibrator as it is a penis vibrator.
Cons
- The vibrations in this could be too powerful for beginners. Not even I use it at full power.
- It is made of black silicone that collects dust too easily.
- Doesn’t have the longest lasting battery (3 hour charge gets 1 hour of play).
Cobra Libre II by Fun Factory
The Cobra Libre has two vibration motors and some very unique vibrating patterns. I haven’t found a toy yet that quite matches it in terms of sensation. It has long been one of my favourite toys. The toy is designed to stimulate the head of the penis and it kind of feels like it has a spinning vibration. The sensation rings around the entire circumference of the penis. I don’t use the toy as much anymore because since I have been using penis pumps, my girth has become a little too wide for this toy.
This toy comes in the red colour I tested here and there is also an all-black version.
Pros
- Unique vibration patterns that I haven’t found matched elsewhere.
- The vibrations surround the penis.
- Has many vibration modes.
Cons
- Not the best toy for partner play, because it is quite boring for someone else to use it on you.
- The vibrations are nowhere near as powerful as the Pulse range by Hot Octopuss.
- Too expensive in my opinion.
- Not suitable for very thick penises.
Satisfyer Men Vibration
The Satisfyer Men Vibration is a very similar toy to the Cobra Libre II. In fact I think that Fun Factory (the company who makes the Cobra Libre) are probably a bit annoyed. Anyway, the Satisfyer Men Vibration is also a great option if you are looking for a penis vibrator. It is far more affordable than the Cobra Libre and is very comparable. The vibrations from it are a bit more buzzy than with the Cobra Libre but they are still pleasant.
Pros
- Dual motor vibrations, like with the Cobra Libre.
- Very affordable.
- Accommodates a slightly larger girth than the Cobra Libre does.
Cons
- The vibrations are more buzzy than the deep penetrating vibrations of the Cobra Libre.
- The vibration patterns aren’t quite as good as the Cobra Libre.
- It only comes in black.
Jett by Hot Octopuss
Yep Hot Octopuss did it again with the Jett! The Jett is a more affordable penis vibrator than the Pulse, which is made by the same company. The Jett works by fitting around the base of the head of the penis. It has two vibration bullets. One of them offers deep rumbling vibrations and the other offers light buzzy vibes. The remote control of the toy allows you to create your perfect mix of vibrations. That’s because you can turn up or down the intensity of each vibration bullet independently. Man.Wand
The Man.Wand is a vibrating wand toy that has a penis holder fused to the side. The vibration motor in it is pretty strong and it is the most ergonomic penis vibrator on this list, due to its long handle. Unlike many of the toys on this list, the Man.Wand is also great as a clit vibrator. The other side of the wand acts as any other vibrating wand would. Therefore the Man.Wand is a great couples toy. It is a pity that they named a toy all genders can use in such a dumb way.

Best Cock Rings
Hot Octopuss Atom and Atom Plus Lux
Hot Octopuss is a British brand that I mentioned further up for the Pulse toys. They also make some excellent cock rings known as ‘Atom’. The first one I tried was the Atom standard that fits just around the penis shaft. Its vibration motor is powerful, though less rumbly than some. It’s one of my favourite cock rings though, which is why it makes it onto this list. The Atom Plus Lux is another of my favourites and although at the time of writing I don’t have the review of it up yet – I’ve tried it several times now and really like it. We-Vibe Verge
The We-Vibe Verge is one of my favourite cock rings. It’s a little more awkward to put on than most cock rings because it is made of tough silicone and is designed to fit around both the penis and balls. You can wear it with the vibrating point facing 3 – 4 different ways. Each position points the vibrator at a different area of either you or your partner’s body. I prefer the position that targets my perineum (the sensitive area of skin between the testicles and anus.

The We-Vibe Pivot is another cock ring made by the same company that makes the Verge above. Unlike the Verge, the Pivot only fits around the base of the penis. This will make it more attractive to people who prefer a more classic design. I have handled this toy in a shop and done some research on it. It seems like a great cock ring! The vibrator in it is feels very powerful, like the Pivot and also has comparable vibration modes and an ability to use remote control. The silicone of this toy is also more stretchy and soft than that of the Verge. So if the Verge seems too risky for you, I totally recommend you check out the Pivot.
Best Penis Sex Toys for Beginners
It’s important that you feel comfortable when you first use a penis sex toy. Most of the toys on this page are probably going to be fine for you, however in this section I’m going to list what I consider to be the most beginner friendly penis toys. With these, you shouldn’t have too much trouble adapting. I also point out some basic information about each type of toy so that you know what to look for even when not picking a penis toy directly off these lists.
Top Masturbators for Beginners
The most beginner friendly kind of penis sex toy to start with is a simple masturbator. Some people call them strokers, pocket pussies or simply Fleshlights. The reason they’re best is because using your hand to masturbate is what you are likely most used to.

Top Penis Vibrators for Beginners
Another very accessible but sometimes overlooked beginner toy type is penis vibrators. Some penis vibrators are too strong to begin with or require too much adaption time. Yet there are several that are totally fine for you to use without experience.
An important thing to consider with penis vibrators is how rumbly they are. By that, I mean that it is important that these vibrations have deep penetrating vibrations rather than buzzy skin deep ones. Cheaper toys will usually be buzzy however there are still some decent and affordable vibrators that are more rumbly.
If you aren’t sure about penis vibrators but have a partner who owns a bullet vibrator, rabbit or wand vibrator then try that first. The sensation took me a short while to get used to but when I did, I never looked back. Penis vibrators are more specifically designed for penis stimulation than your partner’s toys will be but it’s possible that you’ll still enjoy bullet vibes etc.

Best Cock Rings for Beginners
The old classic type of penis toy is a cock ring. Many cock rings are suitable for beginners, just check the fitting of them because some require more manoeuvring than others. If you haven’t used a cock ring before, I recommend you start with one that fits just around the base of your penis.
I recommend you measure the erect girth of your penis to avoid buying a cock ring that is either far too tight or too loose. Most good brands specify the diametre / circumference of the cock rings that they sell. Cock rings are designed to slow the blood flow away from your penis, so it is normal that you should get harder erections using one. However it shouldn’t cut the blood supply off totally or cause pain.

It impressed me that the cock ring isn’t too noisy yet it’s still more than powerful enough to give my girlfriend and I a good time. Trends For Penis Sex Toys In 2021
I wrote this section mainly for people in the sex toys industry. Though even as a consumer you could find this interesting. I have a similar section to this on my prostate toy page. On this page I will explore the trends that I predict in penis sex toys for 2021. My predictions are based on what is already happening and also on what I can imagine happening based on my usage of many toys.
Smart Sex Toys Are The Future
Smart sex toys like the Fleshlight Launch and Kiiroo used to be inaccessibly expensive luxury products. Now we’re starting to see more smart penis toys released and it is causing prices to be more competitive. With the addition of toys such as The Handy, a smart masturbator and Lovense Max 2, an amazing smart vibrating toy, the old companies will have to try harder. The new companies developing smart penis sex toys are not only making better products, they are also making them at lower prices.
It is no longer impossible to imagine many people searching for intelligent and connected toys. We’ve had remote-control and app-controlled toys for some time. Many people are already familiar with the long-distance sex toy concept. With more smart sex toys on the market and reviews online, people are becoming more used to the idea of owning one.
Not only that but we’ve also recently had the Covid-19 pandemic, a health crisis that forced many people to stay at home. The Rise of Abstract Orifices
Many penis masturbator toys are made to look like a vagina from the outside. It looks gross to many people, yet a lot of sex toy companies still don’t understand this. We’re seeing toys like the Fleshlight Turbo begin to do extremely well. I don’t think it’s just because of how great the toy feels. It’s also a result of it looking so damn cool.
Consider it from a consumer’s point of view. Which is better? Having your pocket pussy masturbator discovered or having an abstract masturbator discovered? The choice is easy. Abstract wins. Next question, what if a consumer is gay or bisexual? Not a problem with abstract designs but it is with vagina orifices. Abstract wins again.

More Sex Toy Companies Are Going Gender Inclusive
Did you notice that I wrote this entire page without referring to penis sex toys as a “male sex toy” or “being for men”? Yet you still found this website and you still enjoyed reading the article (I hope). Sex toy companies are beginning to respond to the growing demand for penis and prostate toys to stop being labelled as “for men” or as “male sex toys”.
Progressive companies such as Hot Octopuss are beginning to attempt replacing their gender specific language with neutral phrases. Phrases that anybody can relate to no matter what they consider their gender to be. I think we are going to see more companies using neutral language. Many influencers and sex bloggers are turning negative towards companies who continue to label penis vibrators as “only for men”. In order to continue getting natural exposure from top sex toy reviewers, companies will have to react to the demand for gender neutral language.
There is still a long way to go and that is largely because consumers have been taught by influence to search for gender-specific toys. Even the names of certain products don’t help (eg Man Wand). As I mentioned above, there really is no need for us to be told that something is “for a man” or that it is “designed for males”. If you use that language on your website to draw in consumers searching for gender terms, at least warn them that this isn’t a wise way to search anymore.

I’m hesitant to invest in a premium toy just to find out it will break, or that it won’t fit. Fitting the length is less of a concern, but it seems like a fleshlight or something similar would have an upper limit on girth it can accommodate well.
Hey, thanks for reaching out. Your girth is the main issue here rather than your length (though that can be a concern for some toys). I’m about 2″ in diameter myself, so I sometimes have issues with tightness too. 2.3″ diameter means 7.2 inch circumference though, so you’re likely going to have even more trouble than me finding toys that fit – especially closed style masturbators.
For me, all the Fleshlights I’ve tried have been good. The Mini Lotus is still my favourite, because it feels like going through multiple vaginas with all the opening and closing chambers inside it. Whether or not that would be ok for your size is another thing entirely though. What I would say is that the Quickshot was too narrow for me with the plastic case on. When I took the case off however, it stretched to fit me just fine. Not ideal – but I could use the toy. So I’d imagine that with the full-sized Fleshlights, even if they’re too narrow with their cases, they should be ok without the cases. Not as nice to use them like that of course, but it’s a possibility.
The best toys for larger girths in my opinion are those with open ring style designs. For example, you may want to check out my review of the Fun Factory Manta. That’s a wand style toy, however those silicone wings at the top of it can open quite widely because they’re very flexible. I imagine that would fit your size. Another toy that I’ve tested recently is the Domi 2 by Lovense and the penis attachment that you can get with that wand is also very flexible. I haven’t finished writing up my review of that one yet – but I highly recommend it in your case. Even if you don’t buy the penis attachment, you can use a wand vibrator on any size penis. The penis attachment would fit you though I think – the silicone wings bend a lot with that one.

yeah, girth is definitely what I figured would be the problem. it has been a dealbreaker more than once with actual partners. might even be 2.4″ who would have thought this would be how we are using middle school geometry formulas, lol.
the open wand options seemed viable, but i’m more interested in something that simulates (or even exceeds) the penetration feeling
it’s good to hear that the fleshlights at least worked. people seem to say they are top tier. i had also been considering the tenga eggs, or their 3d sleeves, which both seem like the have a lot of flexibility. if a FL would work without the hard case, i could probably DIY something slightly larger than the standard thing. assuming the case itself serves some purpose beyond just being discreet. suction or something? pvc pipe is cheap and available in all sorts of sizes. and as a bonus, it doesn’t look like a fleshlight.
i’ve been looking for anything explicitly made for larger guys (usually the only mention of girth will be the occasional warning that it is unlikely to work, or the search terms will just bring up those things you can wear to make a penis feel bigger). calexotics makes something called the “big man” which doesn’t seem to have great reviews. and doc johnson makes the “balls deep” sleeve which can accommodate 9″ and says it has “relaxed fit”. not a lot of customizability there, but also not a big investment.
Oh I don’t recommend the Tenga Eggs I’m afraid! They aren’t for people your size. I tried some before and was pretty disappointed with them. They’re very small and although they stretch a lot they don’t feel all that great.
Be careful with the kind of plastic etc you use if you DIY something! PVC can sometimes damage sex toys for example. The hard plastic material most manufacturers use is called ABS plastic. I don’t know how to source it etc but that’s a body safe plastic and is probably what they are using for the masturbator cases you’re looking at.

Any recommendations on which manual or automatic toys best simulate oral sex? Eg I’ve been looking at the svacom Sam or the Maxfun cup.
I don’t know if you’ve had oral sex to compare any of that to but in my experience it’s near impossible for a toy to do it in reality. Tongue work, sucking, hands, breasts etc is all very complicated to simulate so most toys will focus on just one of those things. I’ve not tried the Svacom toys you mentioned but after trying hundreds of toys I can tell you that it’s the simplest toys that are the best ones. In general the more features a toy has, the less fun I have with it. Choose a good masturbator or vibrator and let your mind do the rest. Automatic sex toys that move, vibrate, heat up suck etc at the same time are almost always a chore to use.
I’m still disappointed with the lack of options for men with large penises. I am 7″x6.5″ and the only thing that works for me, ironically, is a defective Fleshlight Wonder Wave sleeve that I received in 2021. They somehow messed up the inner molding and it ended up larger and kind of torn up inside. It feels really good though. I use it without the hard case, wrapped in a heating pad, between two pillows…
